Dine at The Reef Reimagined in Bustling Downtown Olympia
September 3, 2024Journey2Jobs Puts a Fresh Face on Downtown Olympia
November 5, 2024If you think about it, the phases of life are reflected in how, when, and where we sleep. Youth is full of school schedules, silly pajamas, and transitioning from a toddler’s crib to leggy twin bed. As we strike out on our own, it’s time to upgrade to a more stretch-out-worthy full- or queen-sized mattress. And the pinnacle of adulthood comes from a king-sized haven decked out in sumptuous linens and the most decadent pillows…usually shared with kids, pets, and a snoring partner.
If you’re downtown, you may have noticed that the Olympia Bed Store—located at 418 Washington Street SE—is expanding. They’re stretching out to include the neighboring storefront with the goal of providing an even better night’s sleep for their customers.
Resting with the Pacific Northwest’s Finest, Most Sustainable Bedding
The Olympia Bed Store showcases natural and organic products, bedding, and textiles. Items are made in the USA or Fair Trade and Made Safe certified products from around the globe. No chemicals are involved in their fabrics and even the farming is done in ways which build local ecosystems and keep farmers healthy.
Showroom Manager and Sales Lead Kate Oliver was a customer who fell in love with the company, its ethics, their range of products, and the knowledgeable employees. She says that the expansion into their neighboring shopfront allows them to use the current showroom for mattress consultations and the new space for a range of bedding and sustainably-focused items. There was already a pass-through between the two locations, making the merge seamless.
Trick-or-Treat, Something Sweet for the Olympia Bed Store this Halloween
Staff, including owners Mindy and Jason Schaefer, are hoping to have the expansion completed by Halloween so they can give out candy to trick-or-treaters galore. They’re also welcoming customers by offering $25 off your first order over $100 when you sign up for the newsletter in-person or online.
The newsletter is also where you’ll be the first to hear about upcoming sales, deals, new product launches, and festive events. You can find lovely photos on their Facebook and Instagram pages.
While on the website, browse their pillows, comforters and blankets, mattresses, toppers, sheets and duvet covers, baby items, towels and bath products, robes and sleepwear, and household goods. You can even experience samples of the raw materials for crafting or material sensitivity kits. Newly added are eco-friendly products like paper towels, bowl covers, snack bags, coffee filters, and tea bags.
Stop By and Pet the Merchandise—and Wooly Sheep—at the Olympia Bed Store
But the best way to learn more is by dropping by. “We love to show off our products in person,” says Oliver, “and even if you do not need a new pillow right now, feel free to come in just for fun! We love to chat and help you try all the soft, cozy items we have available.”
You can even visit the fully sustainable Oakville production facility for a behind-the-scenes experience. Simply call 360.819.4293 to set up a time to see how the handcrafted bedding is made. The Olympia Bed Store is the flagship for Holy Lamb Organics. Bedding is locally made and women- and veteran-owned.
No two people sleep the same way so the ability to find your perfect mattress-pillow-blanket combination is unique. “We have our beds, toppers, and pillows available in store to try,” says Oliver. “If you are unsure what you like or just want something different, you can come by and try every combination under the sun. We would love to help you find your dream sleep system.”
Whatever your phase of life, schedule, or sleep preferences, the Olympia Bed Store will do their best to make your dreams are sweet. As to the toddler kicking your shins or snoring dog…for those you’re on your own.
