May 1, 2026
Ethos Custom Jewelry offers a refreshing take on the traditional fine jewelry experience. This Downtown Olympia jewelry shop is relaxed, and purposefully unpretentious, blending modern aesthetics with a down-to-earth approach. Ethos specializes in custom and heirloom-based jewelry, creating pieces that carry personal meaning. The process is cooperative from the start, inviting customers to bring ideas, inspiration, or even old pieces ready for a new life.
Nicole Teut, owner of Ethos Custom Jewelry, is passionate about offering a wide range of customization options so you can create a piece that truly reflects your individuality.
“Unlike traditional retail jewelry stores, we don’t start with inventory—we start with the client’s story, materials, and intent,” Teut shares. “Our process is highly collaborative and design-driven. We’re best known for heirloom transformations, custom engagement rings, and thoughtful, narrative-driven design.”

The Making of a Jeweler
Teut’s path to opening her custom jewelry shop started early. As a kid, she spent time grinding rocks in her driveway, already drawn to the beauty of raw materials. That curiosity turned into a job at a bead shop at seventeen years old, followed by years of formal training and hands-on experience. After moving west in search of an apprenticeship, Nicole built over a decade of fine jewelry expertise before launching Ethos.
Her philosophy is simple but powerful: “Professional problem solvers first, jewelers second.”
This mindset shows up in every project, where the goal isn’t just to create something beautiful, but to find creative ways to bring each person’s vision to life.

Right at Home in Downtown Olympia
Known for its thriving creative community and support for makers of all kinds, Downtown Olympia is a natural fit for Ethos.
“I chose downtown Olympia because of its strong sense of community and its support for independent, creative businesses,” Teut says. “There’s a real appreciation here for craftsmanship and locally made work, which aligns closely with what we do.”
Teut believes their location as a jewelry shop in Downtown Olympia helps foster connection, creating space for spontaneous visits and conversations that make custom design feel approachable, supportive, and playful.

“We want clients to feel completely at ease,” Teut notes. “Jewelry can carry a lot of meaning, so we’ve intentionally created an environment where people can relax, ask questions, and take their time.”

Setting the Future in Stone
In days to come, Ethos aims to grow in a way that supports craftsmanship and community, providing opportunities for new jewelers while continuing to offer beautiful, locally made work.
“My goal long-term is to grow the business in a way that creates more skilled jobs and supports people entering the industry. For downtown Olympia, I hope we add to the sense of community by offering something personal and rooted in craftsmanship,” Teut says.
Whether you’re designing an all-new piece or transforming a family treasure, at Ethos you can expect a thoughtful, no-pressure experience grounded in originality and care.
